Data Analysis

Data Analysis: Research
Graphs

The data obtained from this research will be analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics help to understand the data and variables, so that inferential data analysis can then be done (LoBiondo-Wood, & Haber, 2013). The descriptive data analysis techniques that will be used will be at the ordinal and ratio levels of measurement. The ordinal measurements will be done on the data obtained about participant QoL, this is because ordinal measurements reveal relative rankings (LoBiondo-Wood, & Haber, 2013). Mode, median, modal percent, range, frequency, percentile, and frequency distribution are all mathematical manipulations that can be done to the ordinal measurement data. The ratio measurements for this study are the physiological data. Physiologic data is absolute, and because of this can undergo all mathematical manipulation. Important to this research are mean, median, and mode, standard deviation, range, semi-quartile range (LoBiondo-Wood, & Haber, 2013).
Inferential statistics allow the testing of a hypothesis through mathematical processes (LoBiondo-Wood, & Haber, 2013). Tests anticipated for the data in this research are t tests, to measure whether the difference in CR programs is due to chance, or the program itself (LoBiondo-Wood, & Haber, 2013). Chi-square tests will also be used on this data to determine frequency (LoBiondo-Wood, & Haber, 2013). These are the selected processes of analysis as the proposed research is looking for a difference between a general CR and a woman focused CR and because there are both ratio and ordinal level measurements (LoBiondo-Wood, & Haber, 2013). Data will be presented in this study through the use of tables and charts. The tables will lay out all the data and identify the descriptive statistics. There will also be tables for the inferential statistics, in addition to charts. The data will be compared in charts in order to visually see the differences or lack thereof. All data will be discussed objectively, and backed up by statistical analyses at all times.
